Vet Visit on 22.05.10

Hi Friends of Pierre, sorry for the late update. It has been busy for all caretakers.

Here we go...

Pierre went to the clinic today. 2 caretakers went along including myself. We were very very worried. This is the day the vet will decide if his eye should stay.

Dr Heng has a very detailed examination to both his eyes. Left eye turns out to be very good. Water pressure is under controlled.

Next is his right eye, the eye that might turn blind and to be removed.
And to our surprise, Dr Heng said for the first time that she is able to see his nerves and muscles at the back of his eyes. This is the first time his eye is cleared of ulcer. She also tested and confirmed that there is response coming from his right eye. In conclusion, Pierre is NOT BLIND!!! We are just too happy to receive this piece of news.

Pierre will still need his eye drops to maintain the water pressure of both eyes. There is still a chance of getting eyes damaged if the water pressure is too high. This is a genetic problem. No cure so far, only maintain. But I do believe that his foster parent will be able to take care of him and help him maintain this good condition. He will need his regular vet visits and also his expensive eye drops. The next visit will be in July.
We will still need your continuous support in helping Pierre, be it financially or in any other way, as his medical condition is for life-time. We will definitely try our best in whatever way we can, to care for him and make him stay healthy.
